iamnotallgirl"Well," Ramie said as they looked around their new apartment. "It could be worse."
"How could it be worse?" Jill asked doubtfully. "I think our landlord is one of the Sopranos."
"They were from New Jersey. Weren't they?"
"Whatever. Rames!"
"Look, it's two bedrooms, and we can afford it. Do you have any idea what it took to find two bedrooms we could afford? Furnished?"
Just looking around the apartment, Jill would kind of rather have gone to the effort of getting whatever furniture they could beg off their parents to New York. She sighed. "I'm going to unpack."
"See, that's the spirit!" Ramie chirped, then called after Jill, "Hey, you signed on for this!"
That was true, Jill had to admit. She had signed on for this.
She didn't trust the mattress on her bed, though. She was gonna have to do something about that.
